The Dog and The Flea Limerick

Myles: I wanted to try and write a limerick – that’s a five line poem with a very particular rhythm. I’m not sure where the idea of a dog and a flea came from now. That’s how it is with ideas. They are mysterious things!

One of my favourite limericks as a child was:

There once was a man of Bengal
Who was asked to a Fancy Dress Ball;
He murmured: “I’ll risk it
And go as a biscuit!’
But the dog ate him up in the hall.

When Wilm draws the pictures for the poems he always adds great details. I love the name of the company in the last panel.
