Hey there! It’s Myles and Wilm here. Welcome to the beginning of a year of illustrated poems! Every Wednesday we’re going to post a poem with a picture right here on the Poetry Picture Club website. Make sure you don’t miss one by signing up to our newsletter. We’ll let you know when a new one has gone live!

For our first picture poem we thought we’d write about dinosaurs! Dinosaurs roamed the Earth over millions and millions of years. But Earth wasn’t always the same back then … sometimes it was drier, sometimes wetter … and the types of dinosaurs that you could find changed too!

Scientists call the whole dinosaur age the Mesozoic. But they also break it down into three smaller periods called the Triassic, the Jurassic and the Cretaceous. You can find out more about that by clicking this link. And that’s what today’s picture poem is about.
